Innovative Design Options – Environmental Answers

Heatlok® Soya is rigid, closed-cell polyurethane spray foam insulation that offers superior performance, versatility and value to architects who are facing contemporary environmental challenges. Heatlok Soya allows architects greater design options and improved materials to create energy-efficient, superior-quality institutional, commercial, industrial and residential buildings.

Builders seeking to improve the cost, quality and environmental friendliness of their commercial and residential projects are also choosing Heatlok Soya spray foam insulation. Heatlok Soya allows builders to create energy-efficient, superior-quality buildings by forming a durable air barrier envelope that prevents dirt, allergens and vapor from entering the assembly. It also offers contractors a proven way to build successful businesses and protect the environment.

In addition to the Canadian government’s support of the Zero Ozone Depletion Substance (ZODS) of the Montreal Protocol, the demand for premier quality, cost-effective insulation is rapidly growing as consumers and builders turn their focus to environmentally-friendly products and materials. The product is proudly made with recycled plastic bottles and renewable resources such as soy and vegetable oils. As a single-application product, Heatlok Soya’s high-performance, earth-friendly and innovative formula meetsand exceeds all professional and Canadian environmental-performance standards and codes.

Upon application of Heatlok Soya, it fully self-adheres to the substrate, providing a seamless, monolithic air and vapor barrier that conforms to irregular shapes and allows for easy detailing around areas where air could potentially penetrate. Air exfiltration can represent up to 40 percent of the energy costs of the building. As a result, builders can use smaller, less expensive HVAC units to provide the same degree of temperature control. By blocking air, and vapor from entering in the building envelope, Heatlok Soya stops mold, mildew, and wall damage due to condensation and/or exfiltration air movement. It exceeds air-barrier material requirements by more than 500 times the industry standard. Heatlok Soya reaches the highest R-value per inch in the market at RSI 1.05 per 25mm (R6 per inch).

Heatlok Soya also allows architects, builders and contractors to qualify for additional credits in the LEED program. In addition to Green Building credits, Heatlok Soya reduces the energy need for heating and cooling buildings by up to 40 percent. As a result, builders and contractors can use smaller, less expensive heating and cooling units to provide the same degree of temperature control and air quality.

Heatlok Soya brings next-generation value and performance to today's forward-thinking architects, builders and contractors.
